At least half of my portfolio is made up of commissions, mostly for private collectors, businesses, or those wishing to celebrate a moment or special place.

​​“Having known Max growing up, I’d been aware of his work, but it was his painting “For the Love of Something” that really caught my eye.

When we sat down to chat about what my commission might look like, the only thing I knew for certain was that I wanted a piece that embodies his vibrant and colourful style.
My family and I moved to Perth when I was 10, and it was the first place we stayed longer than the 1-2 years that’s common for expats. The friends I’ve made here and the summers spent smiling in the sun, always planning the next adventure big or small, are memories very special to me. Max captured this energy so exactly in my commission. The way this feeling is expressed through the painting is something I don’t think I would’ve been able to articulate to him before we started.
